Join this interactive creative workshop to make your own Intention Stick, something tangible to refer to for inspiration, clarity and motivation. The process is an opportunity to become more mindful and attentive to our goals and ways we would like to live.

Decorating your Intention Stick in your own individual style, colours and patterns.

Requirements/materials:

Pre-session: take a walk outside to collect a stick or small tree branch or cardboard tube.

Other materials needed:

  • Scissors, yarn, string, twine, thinly torn fabric, ribbon, buttons, beads, or similar from your stash
  • Paper and pen for note taking
  • Needle & thread are optional.


Sandy Buchanan is Arts Therapist, Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor with over ten years’ experience delivering therapeutic group activities.

She draws on her own lived experience of stage 3 breast cancer while using evidence-based processes that are trauma informed, grounding and person centred to promote wellbeing.

Audience: Any woman who has had (recently or in the past) a cancer diagnosis. Family/ partners/ support people of women with a cancer diagnosis are also welcome to attend.
