Some cancer treatments, e.g. chemotherapy, radiation and hormone therapy, can reduce a woman’s fertility and chance of having children in the future. Younger women diagnosed with cancer need to make decisions quickly about whether they would like to pursue fertility preservation measures.

In this session we will hear about the issues that are important in considering fertility preservation, current methods available and upcoming developments, factors that impact on the available choices, and where to get more information.

Our presenter is Franca Agresta, Melbourne IVF's Clinical Research Manager. Franca co-ordinates the Fertility Preservation Program at Melbourne IVF: the first and largest service of its kind in Australia.
