Meaningful ageing

This event has past.

Location:  Counterpart Resource Centre

If we are lucky we will grow old. However ageing is not generally seen in a positive light in our society. We talk about the burden of the ageing population, and older people can experience a sense of invisibility, of being dismissed, unimportant, ignored and worse. Our presenter Dr Rosalie Hudson will discuss some more realistic and positive possibilities for ageing. What will sustain and nourish us as we grow older?  How do we create communities that can support us to age well.

Dr Rosalie Hudson is a consultant/educator in aged care and palliative care. She has published widely on ageing and end of life issues in nursing and theological journals and she teaches in the School of Nursing and Social Work at Melbourne University.
