Music Therapy: Imagery for relaxation
Audience: Any woman who has had (recently or in the past) a cancer diagnosis. Family/ partners/ support people of women with a cancer diagnosis are also welcome to attend.
Just for an hour turn off the phone and be guided into a world of music and imagination.
This experiential session is a chance to drop into some ‘me-time’ and connect with some supportive imagery while listening to music. After listening, participants will be encouraged to draw/doodle their experiences (no experience/’talent’ needed). This session is designed to provide a gentle and supportive space that may include some reflection and sharing. People will be encouraged to engage at a depth that is helpful for them, and sharing is completely optional (as are cameras).
Come prepared to be comfortable and to listen without interruption. You may like to have pillows and/or blankets to feel cosy. Also bring some paper and pens or pencils (coloured if possible, but not essential).
Kate is a Registered Music Therapist and a PhD graduate. She is a gentle and creative practitioner, dedicated to helping people find joy, ease and strength during difficult times. In her work, Kate encourages and supports you to embody safety and agency, within the session and in your daily life.
