All our events are free. If an online event fills up, priority will be given to Victorian women.

Audience:

  • Family, carers, friends of women with cancer

This practical workshop will start with a brief outline of how to use music as a support when you experience pain, fatigue and anxiety. We will then look at practical ways to create your personal playlists for different purposes.

Kate McMahon is a Registered Music Therapist and a PhD candidate. She is a gentle and creative practitioner, dedicated to helping people find joy, ease and strength during difficult times. In her work, Kate encourages and supports you to embody safety and agency, within the session and in your daily life.

Kate will work with the technology we already use, so please come prepared with the music you love. For example, you could bring a pile of CDs or records and something to write on, a phone with Spotify or iTunes, or a tablet or computer with YouTube.

No musical experience is needed, just an interest in learning how to use music as a support.
