POSTPONED – Wellbeing Day in Wonthaggi

This event has past.

Location:  Summersalt

Program: Online

Address: SUMMERSALT Gymnastics, McKenzie Street, Wonthaggi VIC, Australia

Unfortunately, this event has been postponed until later in the year. We sincerely apologise for any disappointment/inconvenience this causes. We were really looking forward to facilitating this event and will provide more details soon.

Come along to meet other women diagnosed with cancer and take part in some fun and informative activities that can enhance your wellbeing.

Changes that can come with cancer treatment may challenge our physical and mental wellbeing and have a negative impact on our quality of life. Emerging evidence shows cancer patients may benefit from a range of mind-body and creative therapies and lifestyle practices. These are used alongside standard medical treatment to reduce side effects and improve emotional health and wellbeing.

It is always important to speak with your medical team about the therapies and activities you are using.

Counterpart staff and Peer Support Volunteers will be available to chat throughout the day. Counterpart provides support and information to women diagnosed with any type of cancer.

Program for the day includes:

9.45am                       Welcome and about Counterpart

10am – 10.45am        Qi gong – gentle meditative movement practice to promote calmness and relaxation.

11am – 12.30am         Sashiko – decorative Japanese stitching. All materials supplied to create a small piece to take home. See images of last years session here.

12.30pm – 1.30pm     Please bring your own lunch. We will provide some light snacks and drinks.

1.30pm – 2.20pm      Fatigue after cancer treatment (information session)

2.45 pm                      Close
