Our name has changed, but not our service

As BreaCan, our service has provided quality support and information to women living with breast or a gynaecological cancer since 2003, and has earned the trust of the health professionals across Victoria.

We are rebranding to better represent what our service does, and be more inclusive of all the women we support. The name Counterpart was chosen to celebrate the essence of our service – the trust, warmth, care and positive energy created when women connect and support each other.

Counterpart, meaning peer, puts peer support at the centre of our new brand. Counterpart connects, supports, and informs women with breast or a gynaecological cancer to live well.

Our highly trained and professional Peer Support Volunteers provide emotional and practical support, understanding, hope and comfort. Counterpart means you are not alone. We will help you find reliable, evidenced-based information to assist you in making informed decisions for yourself.
