What is our Peer Support Service?

Counterpart emphasises the special connection created between women who share an experience of breast or a gynaecological cancer.

Counterpart provides a highly responsive, relevant and woman-centred Peer Support service. Our model is valued and trusted by the health professionals we work with, and we never provide medical, legal or financial advice or counselling. Cancer is often easier with someone beside you who has a shared understanding. Our highly trained and professional Peer Support Volunteers give emotional and practical support, understanding, hope and comfort.

Every woman’s experience of cancer is different, but talking to another woman who has had cancer can help. Counterpart is safe, welcoming and inclusive. Counterpart can support you from diagnosis, during or after treatment; we can help you at any time. Our services are confidential and free.

Healthcare providers can refer a woman to Counterpart.

If you would like to inquire about our services you can request a support call, get information, or contact us directly.
