Chair yoga

Date: Tuesday, 03/10/2023

Time: 1:30PM–2:30PM

Location: Online workshop

Address: N/A

Audience: Any woman who has had (recently or in the past) a cancer diagnosis. Family/ partners/ support people of women with a cancer diagnosis are also welcome to attend.

Join a small group for a gentle yoga session done from a chair.

The online session is designed to leave you energised and relaxed. It will include warming up the body, movements to mobilise the spine, deep letting go and meditation. You do not need to be a certain age, size, or shape to practise or benefit from yoga.

Sarasvati is an experienced yoga teacher who has expertise in making modifications for people with illness and injury. Sarasvati has been practicing Yoga since 1996 and teaching since 2002 when she founded the Waverley Yoga Studio. She has written a popular book called Yoga off the mat: freedom in everyday life. Sarasvati is a Senior Member of Yoga Australia, teaching a variety of workshops both in person and online.

Wear clothes you can move in. Use an upright type of chair (like a kitchen or dining chair) rather than a sofa or comfy chair that you sink into. There will be time for questions.
