More details on the sessions and presenters
Art therapy – Vicki Woodhouse
A guided creative experience with a local art therapist.
Vicki Woodhouse has had a career in the welfare sector, in the Goulburn Valley area, for close to thirty years. Counselling and group work, combined with Creative Therapy, are her prime areas of practice.
Throughout her career, Vicki has had the privilege of supporting many people facing challenging life issues. Supporting people living with a cancer experience has been a highlight of her career, both within the local health sector and in her private practice.
With an understanding of the benefits of attending both physical and mental health wellbeing, she’s very pleased to be part of Counterpart’s Wellbeing Day again in Shepparton.
Oncology dietician information and advice – Emma Wagdin
Discover the importance of healthy eating in reducing the risk of cancer, as well as optimal nutrition practices before, during, and after cancer treatment. In this session we will also tackle common myths surrounding diet and its impact on cancer. Whether you’re looking to enhance your understanding of cancer prevention or currently navigating treatment, join us to gain valuable insights into optimising your diet for better health outcomes.
Session presenter, Emma Wagdin is a clinical dietitian with over 10 years’ experience working across a range of areas, with a personal interest in diet and oncology.
Qi gong and meditation – Jen Scandolera
Qigong brings you into yourself, allowing the demands of life to fall away, and leave you feeling calm, grounded and more present.
Being present is the place of healing and allowing, which can then reduce anxiety, temper strong emotions and it can even assist regular breathing and improve overall health.
Jen has been in the fitness industry for 30 years teaching many other activities to help people stay fit and have fun doing it. However, to share yoga & qigong has been her calling.
In 2020, Jen went through a cancer journey with oesophageal cancer and has used the healing benefits of Qigong & yoga to now become healthy and vital once more.
