More information about our presenters

Gentle Yoga Session – Monica Moore

Monica’s teaching reflects the lived path of yoga as an embodied and energetic journey — an awakening to the Divine Oneness that flows within and around us. She offers authentic, heart-centred practices grounded in wisdom, compassion, and lived experience.

Monica’s own path deepened profoundly following an aggressive cancer diagnosis in 2017. Throughout treatment and recovery, yoga, time in nature, spiritual practice, and a plant-based diet became essential sources of support. Today, she continues to live well while mindfully managing some lasting effects of cancer and its treatment.

Monica is a certified Yoga4Cancer teacher, trained in the evidence-based Oncology Yoga (Yoga4Cancer) program developed by Tari Prinster in the United States. This approach is designed to help ease and manage the physical, emotional, and psychological side effects that can arise during and after treatment, while inviting participants to move at their own pace, rebuild strength, and reconnect with a sense of wellbeing — just as they are.

She currently teaches at the Andrew Love Cancer Centre Wellness Lounge and offers Gentle, Hatha, and Mother Goddess Yoga in community settings. Monica is also a certified Meditation Teacher. Monica has been practising yoga since the late 1990s. You can find out more about her through her website: https://yoga-4-living.com/

Adjusting to a diagnosis: changes in lifestyle, roles and relationships – Polly Noble

Polly is a Clinical Psychologist with nearly four years of experience specialising in psycho-social oncology. She has worked across renowned cancer centres such as the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Andrew Love Cancer Centre. Currently, Polly is a key member of the team at Barwon Health, where she provides psychological support across a range of health and rehabilitation services. Her expertise spans both adult and paediatric populations, with a particular focus on chronic pain, cancer care, and rehabilitation. Polly is passionate about helping individuals navigate the emotional and psychological challenges of living with chronic conditions and supports her patients with compassion and evidence-based interventions.

Creative Floral Workshop – Cynthia Handley

In 2016, after years working a corporate career in human resources Cynthia was diagnosed with multiple myeloma after a random blood test. At age 43, with two early teenage children, her life was turned upside down. A journey of twists and turns began, challenging her in ways she never envisaged. Flowers became a healing modality and drew her towards the opportunity to re-train in floristry. The benefits this creative and mindful pursuit provided were an unexpected gift from such a life altering illness. An almost 10 year journey living with cancer has led to the ironical beauty she is now passionate about sharing with others whenever possible.
