More information about the presenters and sessions:
10.30am – Chair yoga for wellbeing
Deb Dohney, 3301 Tarrington wellbeing centre
Debi has been in the fitness and remedial massage industry for a better part of 30 years, with age comes wisdom. Looking after clients from rehab, surgery recovery and general wellbeing. She does this through movement mat Pilates and body alignment work, as well as myotherpy, and mediation for all clients.
Wellbeing is not only of the body but more importantly it’s the mind training as well. Every minute of every day, your body is physically reacting, literally changing, in response to the thoughts that run through your mind. The team at Tarrington wellbeing is very much turned into clients’ thoughts that may be holding them back from their great good.
Come and see our friendly and welcoming team at Tarrington wellbeing.
11.30 – Nutrition during and after cancer treatment
Jodie Nelson, Western District Health Service
This information session will provide essential insights into how nutrition can support recovery, manage treatment side effects, and improve overall well-being during and after cancer treatment.
Jodie is an experienced dietitian of over 25 years, employed in a variety of settings in community and acute practice. Originally from the Central Coast NSW, she specialised in the area of diabetes, before moving overseas to work in England and Scotland. Jodie headed back down under, to Hamilton, Victoria with her family in 2005. Jodie’s areas of interest are women’s health and debunking the many myths about food and nutrition.
1.30pm – My Crafternoons: Floral doodles
Stacey Barns, My Crafternoons
Creative Brit, Stacey hosts sociable craft workshops called My Crafternoons around southwest Victoria, teaching over 50 creative activities over the last 10 years. Stacey will guide us through doodling flowers and foliage in this mini crafternoon designed especially for us. We’ll use simple materials and learn a few nifty tricks in this hands-on activity that we hope you’ll find fun and relaxing – even for those of you who “aren’t creative”!
