Join us for a day of wellbeing sessions and connecting with others who’ve had a similar experience.

All sessions are free, morning tea, a light lunch and tea/coffee will be provided. You are welcome to stay for all or part of the day.

Program for the day:

10.00am    Registration and welcome.

10.30am    Tai chi or gentle movement with an exercise physiologist

11.15am     Morning tea (provided)

11.30am    The Waiting Game: Understanding and managing Scanxiety

12.30pm   Lunch (provided)

1.30pm     Watercolour activity

2.30pm     Thank you and closing remarks

Audience: Women who have experienced a cancer diagnosis (recent or in the past) are invited to come along and try some wellbeing activities and chat with other local women. A friend, partner, family member, or carer is also welcome to attend.

Movement sessions

You will have the choice to participate in a tai chi session, with Snr Instructor Beng Yan from Celestial Tai Chi College, or a gentle movement session with Lauren, an exercise physiologist from Melbourne Exercise Physiology Group. When you arrive, you will be asked which session you would like to join. First in best dressed!

The Waiting Game: Understanding and managing Scanxiety

Vanessa is a clinical psychologist, working at Peter Mac in a Psychology Educator role with over 25 years of experience as a psychologist. In her role at Peter Mac, she works in the field of psycho-oncology helping to support and educate staff and patients to deliver best practice care . She is dedicated to helping empower consumers to feel more confident to navigate their way through the psychological challenges of having a cancer diagnosis.

Watercolour activity

Join Ann Soo Lawrence (creative arts therapist) in a fun and playful watercolour activity as we celebrate pops of colour and the joy of Spring. Ann will guide you in finding your creativity by intuitively painting loose florals on three watercolour cards. All materials are supplied so bring yourself and your imagination.
