Describes the personal story of a woman who had a potential 80 percent chance of getting breast cancer due to her genetic history. With full knowledge of her predisposition Sharon decided to take control of her destiny and had a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction using her own tummy tissue. Taking that drastic decision to have surgery reduced her cancer risk to 1 percent.
